CAP: 3 - 8cm in diameter.
The cap of this species is white to cream in colour and starts in a convex fashion before opening up. The surface is slightly viscid and somewhat silkily fibrillose with an overhanging margin. STIPE: Concolorous with cap, pruinose at the apex and smooth below. The volva is large, simple or lobed and is white to dingy beige in colour. The outer surface of the bag is pruinose. GILLS/PORES: Gills are finely spaced, starting off white and have a pale pinkish hue when older. FLESH: Whitish and fibrous. SPORES: Ellipsoid, smooth and pink. HABITAT: Strictly on the old fruiting bodies of Clitocybe nebularis. SEASON: Quite rare with an uneven distribution. Late September to November. EDIBILITY: Inedible. |
